January 9, 2022

On January 6 many cultures around the world celebrate something called “Three Kings Day.” It isn’t as common in the states, but many Christians commemorate the visit of the wise men to young baby Jesus on the “12th day of Christmas,” also known as Epiphany. These names all refer to the same event in the Christian calendar. You can find out more about Three Kings Day here.

This Sunday we will be taking a one week hiatus from our series on the Holy Spirit and instead will listen in on a sermon by Stuart Briscoe about the wise men. How can these ancient “ardent seekers of truth” offer wisdom to us? We will learn from the wise men as we seek after God ourselves and look for God’s work in a world craving for more spiritual truth.

Smell:

Read Matthew 2

Taste: Listen to the sermon.

This week’s sermon is available by audio only. Go here to listen! A couple of things:

  • There’s a little “promo” in the middle. When that starts you can skip to 11:48
  • If you listen in a Chrome browser, you can set up captions by following these instructions (the gist of it is Settings-Advanced-Accessibility-Captions).
  • This is the first of a two part recording. Our discussion will center on the first part linked above, but if you want to continue listening to the second part, go here.

Eat: Join the conversation.

In person: We gather Sundays at 5 PM. We eat a meal together, followed by a time of conversation and encouragement. No one will call on you. No need to bring anything, but if you are more comfortable with a contribution bring chips, bread, or a side dish. We hope to make you feel welcome! For more about what to expect, click here.

On Zoom: To join us for the conversation log on  to Zoom around 5:40: click here for the link.

Coming Up!

On Sunday January 30 we will begin a new series. Stay tuned!
