Here are all the basics in one place. Find out when we meet, our “personality,” and the larger networks we are part of.
Our weekly gathering is on SUNDAY EVENING AT 5 PM. We anchor our time together in Acts 2:42. The early church is described as devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread, and prayer. In that spirit, we share a meal at 5 PM, then spend time worshipping through music, praying, and reading the Bible together.
Kids Corner
We value healthy relationships with our young people. Children are welcome. During dinner, families are invited to eat together or with others. We check in with each other about our weeks–kids too! After dinner we all watch a video that brings the generations together. Many weeks we have some adults who invite our children to participate in a simple activity, but we always have quiet activities for the kids if they prefer to stay with the grown ups. We coach the grown ups in asking good questions and building up the faith of our young people in a face-to-face way.
We welcome questions and discussion, even the hard ones. We just ask that we listen to each other before responding, remembering that unity is not built on the same opinions, but on mutual love and respect.
What kind of church are we? We value the rhythm of meeting together regularly, growing in healthy relational habits and friendships, and practicing the love of Jesus in our neighborhoods. We value rooting our lives in Scripture. We are connected to a larger church network called the Brethren in Christ. It is a Christian denomination with roots in the Anabaptist, Wesleyan and Pietist traditions.
We host a variety of events throughout the year, some sponsored by us and others by independent ministries that meet in our building (find out who currently calls our building home). We want our building to be a place where people all over Waukesha and Lake Country encounter the welcome of Jesus.
We are easy to find! We are right on exit 290 (County Road SS) of I-94 in Pewaukee (exactly where Waukesha, Delafield and Pewaukee come together).
Are you here to find out what to wear or what to bring? We are a laid-back group. There is no dress code. Our meal is not a potluck, so no need to bring anything – just come and enjoy (and keep your kitchen clean!)
